Development officer, Gill Draper represented BALH at the Medieval Settlement Research Group’s Spring Conference on ‘Forest, Woodland and Settlement’ that took place at Canterbury Christ Church in April. d. A very full programmebegan with an evening guided walk around medieval Canterbury. Gill presented a talk describing the west-east routes across the Weald and the South Downs and their relation to the old ‘fish’ route from Rye to London via Tonbridge.
