The Journals

Our quarterly journals The Local Historian and Local History News are published in February, May, August and November.

Access to the journals as a BALH member

BALH members receive a printed edition of both journals each quarter. They are both also available as an electronic download.

Back issues of The Local Historian, published over three years ago are available to download from The Local Historian page. Editions published within the last three years are available to download from the Members Area.

Both the current edition and back issues of Local History News are available as a download from the Local History News page.

Full access to recent editions

During the pandemic, all back issues of The Local Historian (excluding the latest issue) were made available free to view. This benefit to the wider local history community remains in effect until further notice.
