General Data Protection Regulation: an update for individual members

Posted on 8th May 2018 by Paul Carter

General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) comes into effect on 25 May 2018.  Like all other organisations with individual members, this means that BALH will need your permission to keep your personal data and consent to contacting you by email, post or telephone. You don’t need to do anything now if you are an individual member, but when you receive your subscription renewal notice in the autumn, it will contain a GDPR statement to this effect. New members joining after 25 May 2018 will have this statement included on their application form. Societies and institutions in BALH membership are not affected.

We take special care to keep your personal data secure. Please see our privacy notice: http://www.balh.org.uk/about/privacy

If you have any GDPR queries, please contact admin@balh.org.uk
