Historic Towcester Walk

Posted on 8th July 2019 by Paul Carter

As part of the CBA Festival of Archaeology 2019, the Historic Towcester Research group will be giving a free walk around Towcester Old Town looking at some of the town’s buildings and monuments which the group are researching.  These include Medieval and Tudor inns, a medieval priest’s house, a Victorian workshop and the last thatched cottage in the town.

The first walk will be at 2.15 p.m. on Monday 15th July and will be repeated on Tuesday 16th July at 7.00 p.m. Both start outside The Forum, Moat Lane, Towcester NN12 6AD. Short stay and long stay car parks are located close to the Forum on the Northampton Road.  The walk will be along footpaths but will involve crossing busy roads and is expected to last between 60 and 90 minutes. It will be led by Brian Giggins.
