British & Irish Furniture Makers Online (BIFMO) contains over 60,000 biographies of furniture makers from the late medieval period to the early twentieth century, as well as social network diagrams and historical maps, making it possible to visualise and interact with aspects of the historical furniture trade in new ways. This conference, sponsored by the Foyle Foundation, will provide the opportunity to discover and engage with this large, innovative online resource and to participate in a discussion examining how BIFMO can be used for a wide range of research. The conference will be followed by a drinks reception.
