Dozens of maps and charts will be on show. Many are privately owned and this will be a rare opportunity to see maps and charts relating to Somerset and the Bristol Channel. Some owners will be present to talk about individual maps.

Dr. Adrian Webb, author of ‘ A Maritime History of Somerset’ says:

These maps and charts show over 400 years of Somerset's history. It is a great opportunity for people to be able to see such a range of cartographic history in one place. The range of items display shows the international nature of map and chart production, with items from Amsterdam and Russia. There will also be some map games for people to see.

The exhibition is sponsored by Somerset Archaeological and Natural History Society. Tea and coffee will be available. Admission is £4. All proceeds to the Society, a registered charity. Our new website is sanhs.org.uk. Williton is only the second village in Somerset to hold this exhibition.
