You are warmly welcomed to participate in the BALH Survey 2021, and we appreciate you taking the time to complete the survey.

Over the past few years we have been developing BALH to respond to the needs of our membership. Many of the planned changes have been accelerated since March 2020 so now is the right time for us to check in with all local historians – whether members of BALH or not – to understand how we are meeting your needs and if there is anything more we can do.

The survey is open to anyone to respond to – you do not need to have a current membership of BALH. You can respond as an individual, or as a representative of your local history society. There are plenty of opportunities to leave comments if you wish, especially if there is something pressing that you would like us to know that is not covered by the survey.

All responses are anonymous. At no point do we ask for personal details. At the end of the survey is a section on diversity and equality. This year has put the spotlight on many important issues so it is timely for us to assess our diversity and equality. This section of the survey will be used as part of a separate report and new action plan on diversity and equality that will be released in autumn 2021.

The survey will take approximately 20-25 minutes.

The results of the survey will be published at our Local History Day and AGM on Saturday 12th June 2021.
