Maps are created for a variety of reasons sometimes explicit, sometimes unknown. They document physical places, but also the people who own and occupy them, and range in scope from ambitious attempts to present a view of the world to detailed records of a particular settlement. Join the British Records Association at our Annual Conference which will focus on a variety of map resources and the challenge of their preservation. Speakers include independent researchers as well as representatives from the following institutions:
• Birkbeck, University of London
• Bodleian Library
• British Library
• Kresen Kernow
• Manchester Cathedral
• National Library of Wales
• Royal Geographical Society
• Royal Museums Greenwich
• Surrey History Centre
• York Archaeology
