I had a good day representing the BALH at the Celebration Day for the Manchester Histories Festival at Manchester Monastery. In total over 450 people attended the event and I spoke directly to nearly 100. A handful were individual or society members but the vast majority had never heard of the BALH, so a worthwhile event. Most showed an interest in what we do and were genuinely suprised we existed, they were all interested in local and or family history so potential members. I also sold a few books, enough to cover the cost of the stall.
