What is the aim of The British Coronation Project 2023?

The British Association for Local History (BALH) have been working with The British Coronation Project 2023 to promote understanding of the coronation in 2023 as an historic moment. The Project aims to engage teachers and pupils in this momentous historic occasion.

Working with the Project gives local historians the opportunity to engage with schools in our areas, providing us with the chance to bring history to life and make the coronation relevant in our own local contexts. There are different ways how the coronation can be brought to life such as talks, re-enactments, plays, pageants and displays. The Project is an opportunity to bring together young people and local history around this occasion.

If you are a local historian interested in helping out then get in touch with local schools to see if they are taking part and discuss how you might be able to share your local knowledge.
